SANDON

Fete Preparations.—The Earl and Countess of Harrowby attended a public meeting at Sandon Village Club on the 3rd inst., when arrangements for the proposed garden fete, to be held in aid of the church organ fund, were further discussed. The Rev. J.D. Charlesworth (vicar) presided, and it was decided by the recent spell of bad weather, to change the date of the fete from Whit-Monday to Saturday, June 14. By kind permission of Lord Harrowby, the fete is to be held in Sandon Hall gardens, which will be open to the public for the occasion. The fete will consist of side shows, crockery, flower produce, bring-and-buy and other stalls.
