Sandon Man 102

MR. JOHN WRIGHT, Prospect House, Sandon, celebrated his 102nd birthday on Saturday.

His wife, who is in her sixties, told a “Staffordshire Advertiser” reporter than her husband was in good health considering his great age. He was allowed to get up after lunch, and spend a short time in his garden on sunny days.

Until he was 90, Mr. Wright played the organ at Sandon Church and at Burston Church. He was also clerk to Sandon Church. He moved to Sandon in 1881, to farm Yew Tree Farm, and has lived at Prospect House for 30 years.
