Midsummer Ball at Sandon Hall

Upwards of 250 dancers attended a midsummer ball held at Sandon Hall, the home of the Earl and Countess of Harrowby, on Friday, in aid of the Sandon Parish Church organ fund. They were received by Lord and Lady Harrowby, who were accompanied by Viscountess Sandon and Lady Frances Ryder.

The ball was arranged by a committee consisting of the Vicar (the Rev. W.B. Buckland), Mr. Britain Adams and Mr. J. Cadman (churchwardens), and Miss Shore. Dancing took place in the main hall, and here and in the summer room, drawing room, library and conservatory an attractive scheme of floral decoration had been carried out by Mr. C.W. Townsend (head-gardener), and his staff.

Music was played by Mr. F. Titterton and his band, of Tamworth. During the interval Mr. E.R. Bridgeman gave organ solos.
