Diamond Wedding Celebration

EARL AND COUNTESS OF HARROWBY

The Earl of Harrowby, Lord-Lieutenant of Staffordshire, and the Countess of Harrowby, will celebrate their Diamond Wedding anniversary next Sunday.

They are expecting to entertain the following guests over the week-end.

Viscount and Viscountess Sandon, Lady Frances Ryder, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ryder (representing the Hon. A.D. and Mrs. Ryder), Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ryder (representing the Hon. Edward and Lady Maud Ryder, Miss. Katherine Acland (representing the Dowager Viscountess Hambleden) Mr. and Mrs. Angus Campbell (representing Lord Colgrain), the Hon. Dudley Ryder, the Lady Forster and Mrs. Molloy (who were bridesmaids at the wedding 60 years ago).

The Programme

On Sunday a special Thanksgiving Service will be held at Sandon Church at 11 a.m., at which the preacher will be the Right Rev. the Bishop of Stafford.

At 12.15 the Earl and Countess will plant an oak grown from the tree planted on the anniversary of their Golden Wedding, November 16th, 1937.

This will be followed by the photographing of Lord and Lady Harrowby by themselves in a family group and with Mr. and Mrs. Allcock, of Sandon village, who celebrate their Diamond Wedding on the same day.

On Tuesday, November 18th, the Earl and Countess will attend a reception at the County Buildings, Stafford, at 4 p.m., when a presentation will be made to them by the Deputy Lieutenant of the County.
