SANDON

Badminton.—An interesting match was played in the Sandon Village Club on Tuesday between Sandon and the B.R.C. (Stafford) Badminton Clubs. The B.R.C. proved superior to the local side and won comfortably by 13 games to three.

British Legion.—The monthly meeting of the Sandon and District branch was held in the parish room on Friday. Mr. J.H. Cadman presided. The Secretary was appointed delegate to the North Stafford Annual Conference. After the meeting a whist drive was held, when members were joined by their friends. Mr. D. Downing was the M.C. The winners were: Premier prize, Mrs. Stanley. Ladies, 1. Miss Hazlehurst; 2. Mrs. A. Johnson. Gentlemen, 1. Mr. J. Walker; 2, Mr. A Hine. Mrs. Downing presented the prizes.
