Poppy Day.—A house-to-house collection in aid of Lord Haig’s fund was made on Saturday. Sale of poppies is less than in former years, and the results to hand are as follow:—Sandon and Enson Lane £5 8s. 9d.; Salt, £1 17s. 7d.; Gayton, £1 15s.; Burston, £2 4s. 8d.; Milwich, £1 9s. 9d.; Sandon Bank, £1 14s. 8d. Church collections: All Saints’, Sandon, £3 9s. 6d.; Burston, £2 11s.

Ex-Service Men’s Gathering.—The annual social of the members of the Sandon Branch of the British Legion was held on Saturday evening in the Parish Room. Mr. S. Berrisford presided and amongst those present were the Rev. C.E. Armitage (Gayton), Messrs. J. H. Cadman, E. Rollill [sic], J. Smith, F. Downing, D. Philips, A. Philips, H. Edwards (Salt), J. Bailey (Gayton), and J.A. Walker. Apologies were received from Viscount Sandon, the Rev. L. Knight, the Rev.  F.E. Copleston, Mr. T.W. Knowles, and Mr. J. Philips. Songs were contributed by all the company.
