Poppy Day Sale
There was an excellent response to the sale of poppies this year in aid of Earl Haig’s Poppy Fund. The collections amounted to £36 1s. for the district, the offertories from three churches was additional, amounting to £6 2s. 4d. Milwich, £7 2s. per Mr. J. Leese; Gayton, £5 10s.10d., per Mr. J. Bailey; Salt, £2 0s. 2d., per Mr. J. Mountford, Sandon Bank, £4 3s., per Mrs. J. Tomlinson; Burston, £4 14s. 9d., per Mrs. C. Stubbs; Hopton, £1 18s. 6d., per Miss J. Butler; Sandon, £4 £4 7s. 9d., per Mrs. C. Prince; Lichfield Road, £3 6s., per Mrs. Robson; Sandon Church, £2 4s. 6d; Salt Church, £1 10s.; Burston Church, £2 7s.10d.
