Members of two Mid-Staffordshire farming families were married at Sandon Church by the Vicar, the Rev. W.B. Buckland, on Saturday.

They were Mr. John Joseph Fairbanks, son of Mr. and Mrs. A.T. Fairbanks, New Buildings Farm, Hilderstone, near Stone, and Miss Louise Sherratt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G.E. Sherratt, New Farm, Hollywood, Stone.

Given away by her father, the bride wore a gown of white beaute, with a lace bodice. Her long embroidered veil was held in place by a cap of orange blossojm and she carried a bouquet of cream rosebuds and trailing fern. Her pearls were a gift of the bridegroom.

She was attended by Miss Katherine Fairbanks (sister of the bridegroom) and Miss Hilda Beardmore and Miss Christine Adams (cousins of the bride). Miss Fairbanks (chief bridesmaid) wore a dress of blue figured satin and the small bridesmaids wore dresses of blue figured taffeta.

They carried bouquets of pink rosebuds and wore necklaces, gifts of the bridegroom.

The bride’s neice, Kathleen Silvester, presented the bride with a horseshoe.

A hundred guests attended the reception at Sandon parish room.
