POPPY Day collections in Sandon and district, organised by the local branch of the Royal British Legion, totalled £158.04. The collectors were Mesdames Vernon, Foster, Wright, Clay, Haynes, Bailey and Swift, Misses Vernon, Gorston, Silvester. A. Shaw and Williams, Messrs. Perkins Smith and Thomas. In addition there were collections from the Dog and Doublet Inn, Sandon: Sandon Village; the Holly Bush Inn, Salt; Sandon Church and Burston Church.
