WI SECRETARY DIES

THE SECRETARY of Sandon Women’s Institute, Mrs Linda Jack, died at Kingsmead Hospital, Stafford, last Friday after a long illness.

Mrs Jack, who was 63, was the wife of cabinet maker Bernard Jack and lived at Chapel House, Sandon. She leaves two sons and three grandchildren.

For many years Mrs Jack was an active member of the Women’s Institute and became secretary seven years ago. She was also a founder and leader of Sandon’s keep-fit class for more than five years and an area secretary for the North Staffordshire keep-fit movement.

A service, conducted by Vicar Geoffrey Greenup, was held at All Saints Church, Sandon on Tuesday, followed by cremation at Stafford crematorium.
