Poppy Day Collections.—Poppy Day collections in the area covered by the Sandon and district British Legion were as follows:—Milwich (Mr. J. Williams) £6a 13s. 9d.; Gayton (Mr. J. Bailey) £3 13s. 10d.; Hopton (Mr. J. Challinor) £2 10s. 3d.; Burston (Miss E. Johnson) £2 3s.; Smallrise (Mrs. Robson) £1 16s. 0d.; Sandon (Mrs. R.G. Johnson) £1 9s. 9d.; Mr. P. Holford, £3 8s.0d.; Mrs. F. Cloke, £2 6s. 9d; Mr. R. Alcock, £1 13s 9d.; Sandon Bank, £2 0s. 7d.; Salt (Mr. Mountford ) £1 2s. 4d.; Sandon Church, £2 9s. 9d; Burston Church, £2 3s.5d.—Total £33 9s.2d.

Dedication Service.—The Earl and Countess of Harrowby were among the large congregation at a special service held at All Saints’ Church, Sandon, on Wednesday evening, when new installations, provided at a cost of approximately £2,000, which include a completely re-built organ and new electric lighting, were dedicated by the Archdeacon of Stafford (the Ven. W.A. Parker). Mr. G.P. Matthews, F.R.C.O., organist at St. Mary’s Church, Stafford, gave an organ recital, which was greatly appreciated. Among those present were the Rev. C.E. Armitage (vicar of Gayton) and Mr. Brittain Adams and Mr. J. Cadman (churchwardens).
