SANDON

W.I..—The monthly meeting was held in the Parish Room. Mrs. Askey (vice-president) presided. Mrs. Bullock gave a demonstration of bedroom slipper making. The president (the Countess of Harrowby), on behalf of the members, presented Mrs. Hollins with a gold brooch on the occasion of her golden wedding. Mrs. Hollins returned thanks and provided a cake, which was distributed amongst the members. The hostesses were Mrs. Haynes and Mrs. Merricks.

Horticultural Show.—Sandon Village Club annual horticultural show for the Staffordshire General Infirmary was held on Saturday. Mr. Chillcott and Mr. Townsend were the judges and exhibits were of high quality. Prize-winners were: Round potatoes, 1, D. Downing; 2, J. Owen; 3, T. Wood.
