SANDON

WEDDING

The Wedding took place at Sandon Church of Miss Gladys Elwood, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Elwood, of Vicars Wood Farm, and Mr. Roy Large, of the Dog and Doublet, Sandon. The service was taken by the Rev. C. Dagger (rector of Norbury) and the Rev. C.E. Armitage (vicar of Gayton). Mrs. Blakeman presided at the organ.

The bride wore a dress of ivory satin, carrying a bouquet of carnations, the gift of the Earl and Countess of Harrowby. The bridesmaid, Miss Joan Nash (cousin of the bridegroom) was dressed in turquoise blue, carrying a bouquet of scabious to match. The bride was given away by her brother Mr. Jack Elwood was best man, with Mrs. F. Middleton (sister of the bride) maid-of-honour.

There were numerous presents.
