SANDON
BRITISH LEGION.—The annual meeting of Sandon and District British Legion was held in the Village Club, Sandon, on Saturday. Mr. Robert Philiips, of Hilderstone, the Branch Chairman, presided, and welcomed new members from Aston and Little Stoke. He gave a review of the past year’s activities and Mr. R. Dewberry (Hon. Treasurer) presented the financial statement. The election of officers resulted as follow: Patron, The Right Hon, the Earl of Harrowby; President. The Viscount Sandon; Chairman. Mr. R. Phillips (eighth successive year); Vice-Chairman, Colonel A. Jerrett; Secretary, Mr. R.W. Lindop; Treasurer, Mr. R. Dewberry; Standard Bearer, Mr. E. Reader. The Vice-Presidents were all re-elected. Thanks were extended to all officers and a committee was formed with the addition of new members. The Services and Benevolent Committee were re-elected.
