£100 RAISED BY BAZAAR AT SANDON

Sandon stallholders were kept buy on Saturday afternoon when a bazaar was held in the village club to aid funds of the church.

Organised by the Parochial Church Council, the bazaar was very well supported and about £100 was raised for church expenses.

It was opened by Mr. Brittain Adams, of Congleton, who was formerly Vicar’s Warden at Sandon Church.

Mrs. Brittain Adams and her husband hoped the bazaar would be successful and that they would raise enough money to defray the church expenses.

A spray of carnations was presented to Mrs. Brittain Adams by five-year-old Sally Shepherd, and Mr. Brittain Adams received a buttonhole from Stuart Sargeant, who is also aged five.

For the bazaar, the Vicar had baked a “Scripture Cake” and slices were sold during the afternoon.
