OPENED BY MISS ANN TAYLOR Sandon Village Club effort

A successful fete was held in the spacious and lovely grounds of Sandon Hall, by the kind permission of the Earl and Countess of Harrowby, on Saturday.

This represented an effort to raise money for the Village Club, now in need or urgent repair.

The event was opened by Miss Ann Taylor, of television fame, who wore a delightful blue ensemble. With her on the terrace for the opening were the Earl and Countess of Harrowby, Mr. C.C. Welsh, Mr. E. Chambers, Miss S. Jerrett, Mr. M.C. Bagshawe and Mr. P.J. Berrisford, all members of the committee, who have worked so hard for the event.

After a brief speech explaing the object of the fete, Miss Taylor was presented with a handsome Wedgwood vase by the chairmn, Mr. C.C. Welsh, and with a spray of carnations by Miss Diane Williams, the youngest member of the Young People’s Social Club.
