STOWE-BY-CHARTLEY.

Residents of Stowe will regret to hear of the death of Dr. J.H. Tylecote of Sandon, who was a well-known practitioner in the village. Dec[e]ased had been seriously ill for a considerable time, and he died on Tuesday in last week in his 77th year. He possessed the faculty of inspiring the greatest confidence in those entrusted to his care, and his services were valued accordingly. Of quiet, retiring disposition—amiable, gentle, and cheerful—he won the love and esteem of all who knew him. As a type of the well-educated country practitioner, it would be difficult to find his equal. He was twice married, his second wife being Miss Coldwell, eldest daughter of the late Rev. W.E. Coldwell, vicar of Sandon. The deceased leaves a widow and whom were by his first wife. The funeral took place at Sandon Church on Friday. Amongst those present were the Earl of Harrowby and Lord Sandon, and the large number of floral tributes included one from the Rev. W.K. and Mrs. Coles.
